Abbot Collection
     A small but significant library collected by Father Thomas Abbot, (1820 - 1904),
     a Lancashire man who for many years was parish priest in Monmouth.

Leslie Brookes Collection
    An important collection of books on the Catholic heritage of England, including
    many parish histories.

Diocese of Shrewsbury Collection
    The collection includes the important library of 19th century and earlier titles built up
     by Bishop Moriarty, on permanent loan.

Irish Studies Collection




    A major collection relating to Irish history, topography and culture developed over
    many years by Canon Robbie Canavan.  The collection is held on permanent loan.

Loughlin Collection
    The collection consists of books, pamphlets and other items by  and about
    G. K. Chesterton and Hilaire Belloc built up by  Frank Loughlin.  

Newman Collection




     An outstanding collection of books and pamphlets by and about John Henry Newman.

      Catholic Truth Society

 

The Library has a collection of over 3,000 different titles and editions of Catholic

Truth Society pamphlets and other publications from the 19th century to the present day.

Accompanying the C.T.S. collection is a significant collection of pamphlets issued by the Catholic Truth Society of Ireland and the Irish Messenger.

 

 

 

 Thomas Arkwright Collection

 

        An extensive library of books on Catholic history built up over 35 years by the late  Tom Arkwright, a Lancashire man and himself a local historian.  The collection is particularly strong on recusancy and the period of the Reformation.
